The Parrot House
shadow shadow

Sleeping Six people in comfort, the Parrot House has mature gardens, a sun lounge to the front, one double bedroom, two further each with twin beds, (and a Z-Bed) a dining room, large lounge, large fully fitted kitchen. Ground floor has one WC, a further WC and bathroom upstairs and en-suite in the centre bedroom. As can be seen, this property is not a converted croft and as a result, does not suffer from the usual compromises on space. As most people say, the rooms are 'good sized'. For instance, the lounge is 24 feet long by 18' wide. (roughly - the actual sizes before me are metric and I converted them in my head. It's a big room!)

To the rear, enclosed gardens with BBQ area and seating. As can be seen from the photo above, the rear gardens are still 'work in progress'.  Our aim is to make the rear as visually pleasing as the front but it's proving hard work verging on impossible. Currently we're working on the fenced in area briefly on Saturdays but mainly in panic weeding rather than nurturing.

Parking either directly outside the house or in one of the six private parking bays opposite.

Oh, this isn't important really but if you do water any of the plants in the house, please ONLY do so once a week.

The guitar is always available and is not a child's toy.

Comfortable lounge area with the ground floor double bedroom accessed from this room. Off the lounge is the dining room and separate kitchen.

Fully fitted and up to date kitchen with breakfast bar.

There is also a view from the kitchen window!

With the house's location, if the sun is shining, the front of the house IS in sunlight all day.

Both upstairs bedrooms are large and well lit with front facing windows giving views over the loch.

The downstairs twin bedroom actually opens to the front garden area. Despite me mentioning it is two singles, it actually has a twin and a single. As a result, it is not a large bedroom anymore but ideal for a couple and a young child.

This snapshot was the front of the house on 30th March, 2007. The weather has been kind this year as we're seeing blooms before the south of Scotland.

Obviously, the conservatory is provided with a table and chairs for four people, ideal for early morning breakfast or simply sitting in the evening watching the view.

Finally, if you arrive and drive past the village butchers, you've gone too far!

Broadband Internet Access is available but you will need a laptop computer which can access using Wireless. (The access key is in the information pack, available or arrival)

Due to the ground floor bedroom disabled access is possible though slightly awkward on the ground floor of this property, especially if a wheelchair is involved.
